LONDON (Alliance News) - SSP Group PLC on Tuesday said Carolyn Bradley will succeed John Barton as senior independent non-executive director with effect from October.
Barton has notified SSP of his intention to not to stand for re-election at the annual general meeting in February next year.
The FTSE 250-listed company, which operates catering and retail units at airports and railway stations, said Bradley currently serves as a senior independent director of pub operator Marston's PLC, and as a non-executive director of Legal & General Group PLC.
She previously spent over 25 years at Tesco PLC, holding a number of roles including chief operations officer for Tesco.com, commercial director for Tesco Stores, and Tesco UK marketing director, before being appointed group brand director in 2012.
"We are delighted to welcome Carolyn to the board and I look forward to working with her in her new role as senior independent director," said Chairman Vagn Sorensen.
"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank John for his contribution to the board since 2014," Sorensen continued. "The board has benefited greatly from his experience and advice."
Shares in SSP closed 1.1% higher on Tuesday at 701.50 pence each.
