LONDON (Alliance News) - SSE PLC said on Thursday that Jeremy Beeton, a former director general of the UK government Olympic executive, will step down as non executive director on July 19 at the company's annual general meeting.
Beeton joined the electricity supplier in 2011 and is currently chairman of its safety, health and environment committee.
Following Beeton's departure, the board will have five non-executive directors, three executive director and a chairman. The company intends to appoint a new non-executive director "in the course of this financial year".
Beeton is currently senior independent director of WYG PLC.
Shares in SSE closed 1.7% lower at 1,415.50 pence on Thursday.
