SSE Appoint Former E.ON UK Chief Executive As Non-Executive Director

LONDON (Alliance News) - Scottish energy company SSE PLC said Thursday that Tony Cocker, former chief executive officer of E.ON UK, has been appointed non-executive director and will take up his appointment May 1.

Cocker has 20 years experience of senior roles in the energy sector, working with Powergen and E.ON. His roles included chief executive officer and chairman of the management board of E.ON Energy Trading SE and managing director of the energy wholesale and the energy trading divisions of E.ON UK.

He is also a non-executive director and chairman to the board of Infinis Energy Management Ltd and to the board of Affinity Water Ltd.

Chairman Richard Gillingwater said: "I am very pleased that Tony is joining SSE's board. He brings a wealth of energy sector experience and insight that will be invaluable in the years ahead as the SSE group of businesses evolves and the sector itself continues to change rapidly."

Shares in SSE were up 0.1% to 1,295.00 pence each Thursday afternoon.
