(Alliance News) - SRT Marine Systems PLC on Wednesday said its wholly owned em-trak Marine Electronics subsidiary has won a contract to supply automatic indentification system transceivers to the Panama Canal.
em-trak sells AIS transceivers to commercial and leisure vehicles worldwide, via a global network of dealers and online. The order from Panama Canal for AIS class A transceivers was received through a local dealer. The transceivers are certified by the International Maritime Organisation for use on commercial vessels. They enhance operational safety and efficiency when installed on tugboats and official commercial service vessels that operate in the canal.
SRT did not provide any details on the amount purchased or the value of the contract.
SRT Chief Executive Officer Simon Tucker said: "The selection of em-trak AIS transceivers for its own service vessels adds Panama Canal to a growing list of leading global marine agencies who choose AIS transceivers developed and manufactured by SRT due to the well-known performance and reliability of our products."
SRT's share price was up 1.1% to 48.80 pence in London on Wednesday morning.
