Sprue Aegis Secures Funding For Smoke, Carbon Monoxide Detectors

15th May 2015 07:50

LONDON (Alliance News) - Home safety products company Sprue Aegis PLC on Friday said it has secured the majority of the funding made available by the UK's Department of Communities and Local Government to supply smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to the UK's Fire & Rescue Services.

The products are to be fitted into privately-rented properties across the UK in 2015, with the funding to facilitate the installation of around 445,000 smoke and 52,000 carbon monoxide detectors to be fitted free by the Fire & Rescue Services to private sector landlord whose properties do not currently have alarms.

Sprue, which manufactures the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, said it has received GBP2.9 million of the GBP3.2 million in the total funding made available by the government.

Separately, Sprue Aegis said it has been appointed as the master UK distributor by Innohome Oy, a Finland-based company, to sell Innohome's Stove Alarm and Stove Guard cooking safety products.

No financial details were disclosed on the Innohome deal.

Sprue shares were up 3.5% to 295.00 pence early Friday.
