LONDON (Alliance News) - Spirent Communications PLC said Monday it has appointed Eric Updyke as chief executive officer-designate.
Updyke will be appointed as a director and take up the chief executive role following the annual general meeting on May 1, the communications technology company said.
He will succeed Eric Hutchinson, who is retiring at the meeting after 37 years with the company.
Updyke has "extensive" experience in international business management with a strong technical understanding of the markets in which Spirent operates, the company said. He most recently was group president of services at Amdocs Ltd, a US based communications software developer.
Shares in Spirent were down 0.1% at 143.66 pence each on Monday afternoon.
