LONDON (Alliance News) - Speedy Hire PLC Monday said Chief Operating Officer Mark Rogerson has been promoted to the chief executive role with immediate effect, as the company tries to rebound from accounting irregularities it discovered in its international unit last autumn.
Rogerson joined the Speedy Hire board in December last year having joined from Costain Group PLC, where he was Managing Director of the Natural Resources division. Prior to working at Costain, he had spent 8 years at Serco Group PLC in various senior leadership roles.
The discovery of accounting irregularities at the international unit led to the resignation of Speedy Hire's previous CEO Steve Corcoran and the finance chief of the international unit. The irregularities are being investigated by Deloitte, and are expected to hit the company's profits by about GBP3.0 million for the current financial year.
Speedy Hire shares were down 3.1% at 63.00 pence Monday morning.
