LONDON (Alliance News) - Controls and instrumentation company Spectris PLC said Wednesday that it has acquired Canada-based La Corporation Scientifique Claisse Inc for an undisclosed amount.
Claisse makes products to prepare samples for atomic spectroscopy analysis, including X-rays. It had revenues for the year to end-March of CAD13 million.
Spectris will integrate Claisse into its PANalytical business, part of its Materials Analysis operations.
"Claisse is a strong strategic addition to Spectris' Materials Analysis segment as it deepens our presence within the sample preparation market," said Business Group Director Eoghan O'Lionaird in a statement.
Shares in Spectris were trading down 0.4% at 2,299.00 pence Wednesday.
