Sound Energy Starts Drilling Work On First Tendrara Well

21st Apr 2016 07:13

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sound Energy PLC on Thursday said it has started drilling work on the first well at the Tendrara project, onshore Morocco.

The Mediterranean-focused upstream oil and gas company said the rig-up completed last week and the well was spud on Wednesday.

The final results from the well will be available around 80 days after the spud date, Sound said.

"I am pleased to report that drilling of our first well in Morocco has now commenced. This well is a significant milestone for our company and we expect it to both unlock Eastern Morocco's regional gas play and significantly broaden Sound Energy's resource base," said James Parsons, Sound's chief executive.

Shares in Sound Energy were up 2.5% to 16.65 pence early Thursday.
