Solid State Hikes Interim Dividend As Profit Rises, Order Book Expands

20th Nov 2018 12:02

LONDON (Alliance News) - Rugged computer maker and electronics distributor Solid State PLC boosted its interim dividend Tuesday after profit and revenue both grew and the order book expanded significantly.

For the six months ended September, pretax profit widened 4.7% to GBP1.33 million from GBP1.27 million the year prior. This was after revenue rose 4.4% to GBP23.5 million from GBP22.5 million the year before.

Solid State proposed a 4.20 pence per share interim dividend per share, up 5.0% from 4.00p the year prior.

"These results are very pleasing and provide a good foundation for the year as a whole," Solid State Chairman Chairman Tony Frere said. "The strength of the order book and the recent acquisition of Pacer Technologies give the board confidence in being able to deliver a stronger second half and continued longer term growth."

The open order book at the end of October stood at GBP29.4 million, up 46% from GBP20.1 million the year prior. At the start of November, Solid State acquired optoelectronic product maker Pacer Technologies Ltd for GBP3.7 million.

Shares in Solid State were 1.3% higher at 320.00 pence on Tuesday.
