Solid State Appoints Former 600 Group CEO To Board; Chair To Depart

27th Jun 2019 16:47

(Alliance News) - Solid State PLC on Thursday said it has appointed former 600 Group PLC Chief Executive Nigel Rogers to its board and announced the upcoming departure of its chair.

Shares in Solid State, which manufactures computing and electronics products, and distributes electronic components, closed down 2.7% at 489.00 pence.

Solid State Non-Executive Chair Tony Frere has announced that he plans to retire and will leave the board at the end of 2019, having joined the board in 2010 and been made chair in 2014. No replacement has been named, but a search "has commenced".

Rogers joined 600 in 2012 and left in 2015. He joins Solid State on Monday as an independent non-executive director, replacing John Lavery who leaves at the end of August.

As well as 600, Rogers has also been CEO at Stadium Group PLC. He has been non-executive deputy chair at Transense Technologies PLC since July 2015 and was appointed chair of Surgical Innovations Group PLC in October that same year.
