SolGold Hole 16 Final Results Extends High Grade Zone At Cascabel

LONDON (Alliance News) - SolGold PLC on Friday said it has continued to make progress on the Cascabel copper-gold porphyry project in Ecuador, extending the Alpha Central high grade mineralisation area.

SolGold said final assay results from Hole 16 returned intersections of 1,145.65 metres at 0.63% copper and 0.78 grammes of gold per tonne of ore from 516 metres, including 856 metres at 0.80% copper and 1.04 grammes of gold per tonne from 548 metres.

SolGold said this "broad zone" of porphyry style copper and gold mineralisation included two high grade zones, titled the Upper Zone and Lower Zone.

The Upper Zone saw 152 metres at 1.18% copper and 1.69 grammes of gold per tonne of ore from 612 metres, and 108 metres at 1.47% copper and 2.19 grammes of gold per tonne from 656 metres.

The Lower Zone saw 373.6 metres at 1.00% copper and 1.34 grammes of gold per tonne from 928 metres, and 267.6 metres at 1.01% copper and 1.35 grammes of gold per tonne from 934 metres.

Shares in SolGold were up 3.6% at 3.60 pence on Friday.
