SolGold Discover New Copper And Gold Mineralisation Targets In Ecuador

21st May 2018 14:35

LONDON (Alliance News) - SolGold PLC said on Monday it has discovered two new copper targets and new mineralised outcrops within the 60 kilometres of potential strike at its two projects in Ecuador's southern jurassic Porphyry corridor.

On the western side of its La Hueca project, SolGold has discovered two copper targets with sampling returns of 17.3 metres at 3.87% copper, 0.46 grammes per tonne gold - including 6 metres at 9.39% copper, 0.98 grammes per tonne gold.

New mineralised outcrops in its Porvenir project are "rich" in chalcopyrite, chalcocite, covellite, bornite (copper sulphide minerals) and malachite (copper carbonate mineral).

The Toronto and London listed mining company said it is following up prospecting of initial stream sediment results, which continue to locate new mineralised outcrops. In the "extensive" porphyry corridor, SolGold has tenure covering 60 kilometres of potential strike.

Shares in SolGold were down 5.3% to 24.82 pence each Monday.
