LONDON (Alliance News) - Software Radio Technology PLC on Monday said it has received an order for its automatic identification system Coast Stations technology from shipping and seafarer safeguarding charity Trinity House in the UK.
The AIS Coast Station is an automatic tracking device used by ships to identify and locate other vessels by exchanging data, providing an "air traffic control" for boats.
No financial details of the deal were provided.
"Our AIS Coast Station provides exceptional performance and functionality. As a British maritime technology company we are delighted to supply Trinity House with world beating technology that will enhance maritime safety and security in their jurisdiction," said Chief Executive Simon Tucker.
Software Radio shares were up 8.3% to 39.25 pence.
