LONDON (Alliance News) - Smurfit Kappa Group PLC on Monday said its transfer to a premium listing in the UK has been approved by the UK Listing Authority and became effective this morning.
The Irish corrugated packaging company announced plans for the move last month, saying it would move its London-listed shares to a premium listing and, at the same time, change the category of its Irish-listed shares to a standard from a premium listing.
Smurfit's current market capitalisation is around EUR5.55 billion, or around GBP4.32 billion, putting it contention to be included in the FTSE 100 when the next quarterly review happens in June.
Smurfit shares were up 0.5% to EUR23.63.
