Smurfit Kappa Long-Standing Non-Executive Thorne To Retire In May

LONDON (Alliance News) - Smurfit Kappa Group PLC said Thursday that Non-Executive Director Rosemary Thorne will retire from the FTSE 100-listed packaging firm in May.

Thorne - who also serves as chair of the audit committee, having been a non-exec since 2008 - will retire after the annual general meting on May 4.

"On behalf of the board," Smurfit Chairman Liam O'Mahony said, "I would like to extend our sincere appreciation for the substantial contribution of Rosemary who has been a valued member of the board and the chairman of the Audit Committee since 2008. We wish her well for the future."

Shares in Smurfit were 0.2% higher at 3,000.00 pence on Thursday.
