Smith & Nephew's Watford Facility Gets "Gold Standard" Accreditation

18th Apr 2018 09:02

LONDON (Alliance News) - Medical technology firm Smith & Nephew PLC said Wednesday its centre in Watford is the first commercial surgical training facility in Europe to be accredited by the UK Royal College of Surgeons.

Shares were up 1.8% in early trade on Wednesday at 1,339.50 pence each.

This accreditation for its expert connect centre is "the gold standard", Smith & Nephew said, and follows an in depth assessment by the College.

Smith & Nephew President of Europe & Canada Massimiliano Colella said: "This endorsement from the Royal College of Surgeons is a huge honour and recognition of the quality of our medical training and education.

"We're very proud to be regarded as a benchmark professional development facility and look forward to welcoming more healthcare professionals to the expert connect centre as we continue to support them in their vital work improving patients' lives."
