Smart Metering Systems Taps Ex-ScottishPower Exec As New Chairman

25th Apr 2016 07:49

LONDON (Alliance News) - Smart Metering Systems PLC on Monday said Non-Executive Chairman Paul Dollman will step down from the board at the company's annual general meeting to concentrate on other business interests.

The electricity and gas metering services company said Non-Executive Director Willie MacDiarmid will become non-executive chairman with effect from the closing of the AGM, generally held in May.

MacDiarmid previously had been an executive with ScottishPower, with that utility's metering business part of his portfolio, Smart Metering said. He is currently chairman of construction company Ogilvie Group and Fallago Rigg WindFarm, which is a renewables joint venture between Hermes Group and EDF Renewables.

Smart Metering Systems said a process to identify and appoint an additional non-executive director to the board is already underway.

Shares in Smart Metering Systems were untraded on Monday, having last traded at 425.00 pence.
