SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Synthomer PLC, up 1.9% at 106.6 pence, 12-month range 79.4p-307p. The London-based developer of highly specialised polymers said it has completed the divestment of William Blythe Ltd for GBP30 million. Says net cash proceeds amount to GBP25 million after adjustments for working capital, debt, and debt-like items. Synthomer first announced in early May that it had agreed to sell William Blythe, an inorganic chemistry business, to its management team alongside H2 Equity Partners Ltd. It will use the divestment proceeds to reduce net debt.

Capita PLC, up 1.4% at 230.5p, 12-month range 174.9p-324.75p. The London-based outsourcing and professional services company has secured a UK contract worth GBP37 million to deliver pensions administration services and transformational projects for an unnamed "global parent company's" pension schemes in the UK. Says the contract will start on November 1 and run for five years, with the option for a further one-year extension. "Capita will focus on delivering exceptional service delivery and meeting the client’s membership requirements for increased digitisation and automation, leading to improved scheme member experience and efficiencies," the company says. Adds that it will leverage its Digital Pension Solutions platform for the contract, "using cutting edge data insights and leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 to provide a hyper-personalised experience".

Custodian Property Income REIT PLC, down 1.4% at 81.85p, 12-month range 67.3p-86.8p. The investor in smaller regional UK properties announces its acquisition of a GBP22.1 million portfolio through the all-share purchase of "a family property company". Says the takeover provides a GBP19.4 million portfolio of 28 smaller lot-size regional UK investment properties and approximately GBP2.7 million of newly built housing stock. The sale of this housing stock is ongoing with completion expected "in the next few months".
