SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

River & Mercantile Group PLC, up 2.3% at 264.90 pence, 12-month range 203.16p-326.87p. Receives change in control approval from the FCA for takeover by AssetCo PLC. R&M thus plans to proceed with GBP190 million shareholder return via B share scheme. "Now we have secured the green light from the FCA we can look forward to the next stage of our journey as an integrated part of AssetCo, with a strong balance sheet that we will invest in people, technology and making the business a compelling place to work," says Chief Executive Alex Hoctor-Duncan. Shares in AssetCo PLC are untraded.

Lookers PLC, down 7.4% at 65.3p, 12-month range 53.59p-102p. The car dealer goes ex-dividend on Thursday, meaning new buyers no longer qualify for the latest payout.
