SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: Go-Ahead bid interest; ProCook falls more

13th Jun 2022 11:14

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Monday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Go-Ahead Group PLC, up 16% at 1,408.00 pence, 12-month range 450.6p-1,490p. The public transport operator says it has received two takeover proposals at terms it "would be minded to recommend" should a firm offer materialise. The Newcastle, England-based firm receives a takeover proposal from Sydney-listed transport Kelsian Group Ltd and another from a consortium consisting of Kinetic Holding Co Pty Ltd and Globalvia Inversiones SAU. Kinetic is a bus operator in Australia and New Zealand, while Globalvia is a Madrid-based transport infrastructure firm.

Both approaches were unsolicited.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

Argo Blockchain PLC, down 16% at 37.85p, 12-month range 35p-175p. The cryptocurrency miner falls as bitcoin tumbles to an 18-month low under USD25,000 on Monday. The world's most popular cryptocurrency dives around 10% to hit USD24,692 in morning London deals, striking a level last seen in December 2020. The virtual unit has collapsed 65% in value since striking a record peak in November 2021.

----------

ProCook Group PLC, down 13% at 40.41p, 12-month range 40p-165p. The kitchenware retailer extends Friday's 40% drop, when it said trading had been hurt by increasingly challenging market conditions, with customers affected by "exceptional pressures" on discretionary spending.
