(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Wednesday.
----------
SMALL-CAP - WINNERS
----------
Tullow Oil PLC, up 7.4% at 8.91 pence, 12-month range 8.3p-26p. Shares in the Africa and South America-focused oil and gas development company track Brent higher. Brent trades at USD62.33 a barrel on Wednesday morning, up from USD62.31 on late Tuesday and following a monthly low of USD60.35 on Friday.
----------
SMALL-CAP - LOSERS
----------
Macfarlane Group PLC, down 17% at 72.6p, 12-month range 72.5p-120.5p. The Glasgow-based packaging and labelling supplier warns that its full-year adjusted operating profit will be 20% to 25% below market expectations, citing a fatal incident at recently acquired Pitreavie and slower-than-anticipated improvements in its Distribution unit. Macfarlane says Pitreavie's full-year performance will fall materially short of previous management forecasts, though its Manufacturing operations excluding Pitreavie continue to perform well. The company adds that net bank debt remains comfortably within its GBP40 million facility.
----------
Ferrexpo PLC, down 6.7% at 55.45p, 12-month range 44.25p-119p. Shares in the Ukraine-focused iron ore pellet producer rise as investors react to a pause in plans for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump. Trump said Tuesday he had shelved plans for a summit in Budapest aimed at ending the Ukraine war, saying he did not want a "wasted" meeting". The reversal comes just days after Trump announced the talks, following what he described as a productive call with Putin about ending the conflict.
----------
JPMorgan Emerging Europe, Middle East & Africa Securities PLC, down 2.4% at 222p, 12-month range 112p-301p. The investment trust, which holds exposure to emerging Europe and Russia alongside positions in the Middle East and Africa, falls as sentiment toward the region weakens after US President Donald Trump said he had shelved plans for a summit in Budapest with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
