SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: EnQuest touts production ahead of guidance

27th May 2025 10:54

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Tuesday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Tullow Oil PLC, up 4.9% at 14.24 pence, 12-month range 11.00p-40.32p. Bank of America cuts the price target for the oil and gas producer focused on the West African countries of Ghana and Ivory Coast to 32 pence from 40p, and maintains its 'buy' rating.

----------

EnQuest PLC, up 2.3% at 11.64p, 12-month range 9.95p-16.74p. The London-based oil and gas company with operations in the UK and Malaysia says it continued to deliver "excellent operational performance" during 2025, achieving group production efficiency in excess of 90%. Group production averaged 42,028 in the first quarter, which EnQuest says remained ahead of its guidance range. The group says it is focused on optimising operational activity in the second half of 2025 and beyond, noting that 2025 capital activities were predominantly first-half weighted. EnQuest guides for full-year production between 40,000 to 45,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, including pro forma Vietnam production, which compares to 40,736 barrels in 2024. "We remain focused on optimising our cost base to drive further efficiency, commensurate with a low commodity price environment," says Chief Executive Officer Amjad Bseisu. "We have a strong track record of managing expenditure during times of low oil prices and will apply the same disciplined approach to our investment plans over the next 18 months."

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

Petra Diamonds Ltd, down 2.5% at 20.18p, 12-month range 19.23p-43.84p. Shares extend decline on Tuesday after a 5.3% fall on Friday and a 3.7% slip on Thursday. The South Africa and Tanzania-focused diamond miner last week on Thursday said its second quarter revenue fell amid a "very difficult diamond market".
