(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Wednesday.
----------
SMALL-CAP - WINNERS
----------
Prairie Mining Ltd, up 50% at 19.45 pence, 12-month range 7p-22p. Hits this 12-month high earlier on Wednesday. The mining company files claim with a treaty tribunal for GBP806 million in compensation from the government of Poland for "lost profits and damages" at its Jan Karski and Debiensko coal mines. The firm began formal proceedings against Poland in September last year under the Energy Charter Treaty and Australia-Poland Bilateral Investment Treaty. Prairie Mining claims that, by blocking development of the mines in southern Poland, the government "breached its obligations" under the two treaties.

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS
----------
Gulf Marine Services PLC, down 44% at 3.5p, 12-month range 3.4p-14.95p. Hits this 12-month low earlier on Wednesday. Proposes GBP11.1 million capital raise via a share placing as the support vessel operator looks to cut debt. Plans to raise the funds in placing through the issue of up to 370.7 million shares at 3p each. In addition to this, the company announces open offer for 665.9 million shares at the same price, which would raise another GBP20.0 million if taken up in full. The issue price represents discount of 52% to Tuesday's closing price.
