SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Superdry PLC, up 4.9% at 278.00 pence, 12-month range 194p-493p. RBC raises the clothing retailer to Outperform from Sector Perform.

Halfords Group PLC, up 4.8% at 335.8p, 12-month range 245.5p-441.8p. The motor and cycling products retailer late Wednesday unveils plan to buy Axle Group Holdings Ltd for GBP62 million. Axle, trading as National, operates in the tyre and automotive servicing, maintenance and repair market. It trades under the brands National Tyres & Autocare, Viking Wholesale Tyres and Tyre Shopper "The directors of the company believe that the acquisition is both strategically and financially compelling, delivering on Halfords' objective of evolving into a business more heavily weighted towards Motoring Services," says Halfords. Raises GBP63.4 million via share placing and management subscription to put towards the deal.

STV Group PLC, down 2.2% at 347.30p, 12-month range 275p-385p. Hands back some gains after rising 6.0% on Wednesday, when the Glasgow-based media company said it expects a record year in advertising revenue after a stronger than expected fourth quarter.
