SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

GSTechnologies Ltd, up 39% at 1.6 pence, 12-month range 0.1p-4.5p. The fintech and information technology company appoints Bai GuoJin, known as Jack Bai, as its new chief executive officer with immediate effect. Says Bai joined the board as executive director in January. Bai has over 30 years' experience in software development for the financial and telecommunication industries, the company notes. In 2016, Bai co-founded Singapore-based blockchain payment solution provider Wise MPay Pte Ltd.

Alfa Financial Software Holdings PLC, up 3.1% at 172.15 pence, 12-month range 106.11p-192.33p. Barclays upgrades the asset finance industry software firm to Overweight from Equal Weight on its "motivated" workforce. "Our analysis of Alfa from an embedded ESG perspective has highlighted to us, in a way that we underappreciated previously, how directly related Alfa's financial outlook is to the motivation and diversity of its employee base, and to its ability to continue to attract the right talent to growth the business," Barclays says.

Carr's Group PLC, down 9.3% at 143.95p, 12-month range 92p-168p. The agriculture machinery distributor and engineering firm says Chief Executive Hugh Pelham leaving with immediate effect to "pursue other interests". Chair Peter Page to become executive chair on interim basis. Page thanks Pelham, and adds: "Group performance remains in line with the improved guidance provided in our trading update on 19 July 2021." Pelham had only joined firm in January.
