SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Bloomsbury Publishing PLC, up 15% at 379.00 pence, 12-month range 255.00p-405.00p. The publishing house says it expects annual profit and revenue to top market expectations, supported by strong sales. Current market expectations is for revenue of GBP197.1 million and profit before tax and other items of GBP20.1 million. Peel Hunt also raises the stock to Buy from Add.

Forterra PLC, up 10% at 267.63p, 12-month range 236.00p-330.00p. The masonry products maker says strong trading across all key market segments seen through 2021 continued to the end of the year. Full year brick sales volumes were 33% ahead of 2020 and 1% ahead of 2019. Annual revenue is expected to total GBP370 million, up from GBP291.9 million in 2020. Launches GBP40 million share buyback programme commencing Wednesday, with year end cash ahead of expectations.

Okyo Pharma Ltd, down 25% at 4.95p, 12-month range 0.040p-5.50p. The biotechnology company reports widened interim loss. For six months to September 30, total assets decreased to GBP4.2 million from GBP5.8 million the year before and pretax loss was GBP2.0 million, widened sharply from a loss of GBP485,960.
