SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: Avon recovers; Zotefoams supply chain hit

17th Dec 2021 10:48

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Friday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Avon Protection PLC, up 11% at 1,088.00 pence, 12-month range 860.00p-3,665.00p. Shares in the troubled respiratory protection equipment firm have rebounded for the second successive session. The stock is still down 0.1% from last Friday. On Wednesday, it unveiled plans to wind down its body and flat armour business.

----------

McBride PLC, up 5.9% at 57.60 pence, 12-month range 52.15p-97.80p. Shares recover after an 8.1% fall on Thursday. The cleaning and hygiene product manufacturer had warned it now expects to report a chunkier adjusted loss before interest, tax and amortisation of GBP14 million to GBP17 million for the six months to December 31. In October, it had forecast a GBP10 million loss.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

Zotefoams PLC, down 5.4% at 392.70p, 12-month range 351.13p-499.00p. The cellular materials technology says GBP1 million worth of orders for 2021 will now be shipped in 2022 due to supply chain issues. Zotefoams warns a further GBP3 million may also be delayed. More promisingly, its current order book supports potential sales of GBP101 million for 2021, which would top last year's GBP83 million and also beat market expectations.
