10th Sep 2015 15:41

LONDON (Alliance News) - SKY PLC on Thursday said it has extended its deal to broadcast matches in the Scottish Premier Football League for a further three seasons.

The deal runs through until the end of the 2019/2020 football season, and Sky is guaranteed up to 30 live matches per season from the top flight of Scottish football. By the time the deal has ended, Sky will have been covering the Scottish league for almost 30 years, Sky said.

"The Scottish Premier Football League is a major part of our unrivalled football schedule, in addition to the Scottish Cup and Scotland's UEFA Euro 2016 and FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifiers," said Sky Sports Managing Director Barney Francis.

Sky shares closed up 0.7% to 1,047.0 pence per share on Thursday.
