SKIL Ports Says Contractor Workforce Remobilisation Complete

14th Sep 2015 08:42

LONDON (Alliance News) - SKIL Ports & Logistics Ltd on Monday said the remobilisation of the contractor workforce at the Navi Mumbai facility in India has now been completed.

In late July, SKIL had said activity at the port was restarting but said the port will not be operational until 2016. The contractor's workforce had left the site following some local community issues, which SKIL did not disclose.

The company said work on site is ongoing and said the workers will move to a 24-hour shift pattern within the next six weeks.

"We are pleased to be progressing with work to build a modern port facility in Mumbai. We will continue to inform shareholders as we reach key milestones in the development of this project," said Nikhil Gandhi, SKIL's executive chairman.

Shares in SKIL were up 9.3% to 40.9999 pence on Monday morning.
