LONDON (Alliance News) - SKIL Ports & Logistics Ltd on Wednesday said the remobilisation of the contractor workforce at the Navi Mumbai facility in India has started.
In late July, SKIL had said activity at the port was restarting but said the port will not be operational until 2016. The contractor's workforce had left the site following certain local community issues, which SKIL did not disclose.
"We are pleased to be making further progress with our plans to build a modern port facility in Mumbai. The timing of the completion of re-mobilisation will in part be weather dependent, but we do not expect any material delays to the project from this point," said Nikhil Gandhi, SKIL's executive chairman.
