LONDON (Alliance News) - Creo Medical Group PLC on Thursday said the total number of doctors trained in the use of its Speedboat surgical endoscopy device in the US has risen to six.
The Speedboat device allows for surgical procedures to be done during an endoscopy, allowing surgeons to remove cancerous and pre-cancerous growths while performing endoscopies.
After the first successful US treatments with the device in January, it has now been used by another four gastrointestinal surgeons. This takes the number of doctors now trained in the use of the Speedboat device to six, located a five hospitals.
At present, patients have been successfully treated with the device in mainland Europe, the UK, South Africa, and the US.
Creo Chief Executive Craig Gulliford said: "A training-led commercialisation strategy is key to the successful roll-out of our products and we are delighted with the progress that we are making with clinicians in the US.

Shares in Creo were up 2.8% at 190.60 pence on Thursday afternoon.
