Sirius Revises Planning Application Strategy For York Potash Project

1st Aug 2014 09:22

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sirius Minerals PLC said Friday that its is making a revision to its strategy for the planning application for its York Potash project in North Yorkshire, following discussions with local planning authorities.

The company said that the change will not effect its previously announced submission time-frames, which remain on track for the end of September.

It has agreed the revision with the North York Moors National Park Authority, and will now include its planning application for its mineral transport system with the planning application for the mine. Its materials handling facility will not be part of this application, and it will submit a separate application for it, said the company.

Sirus said that both the North York Moors National Park Authority and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are in agreement with its new approach because it simplifies their assessment of the projects impact.

Shares in Sirius were trading down 5.8% at 11.31 pence Friday morning.
