Sirius Real Estate Hires Workspace-Chair Daniel Kitchen New Chairman

24th Sep 2018 11:14

LONDON (Alliance News) - London- and Johannesburg-listed Sirius Real Estate Ltd said Monday it appointed Daniel Kitchen as its non-executive chairman with immediate effect.

Kitchen will replace previous incumbent Neil Sachdev after he stepped down in December 2017.

"Sirius is a well-respected business with a very interesting business model which is capable of delivering significant growth in shareholder value over the next few years," Kitchen said. "I look forward to working with the board and wider executive management team to maximise the future opportunities open to the company."

Kitchen is currently serving as non-executive chairman at Workspace Group PLC, Hibernia REIT PLC and Applegreen PLC. Previously, he worked as chief financial officer of Irish-real estate firm Green Property PLC.

"Danny brings with him extensive experience and expertise in real estate and finance, as well as being a very experienced listed property company chairman," Sirius Chief Executive Officer Andrew Coombs said. "His skillset will further strengthen our existing board and add significant value in helping Sirius to deliver its future growth ambitions."

Shares in Sirius were 0.6% higher at 62.38 pence on Monday. Trading in Johannesburg is closed for National Heritage Day.
