LONDON (Alliance News) - Sirius Petroleum PLC on Monday said the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Environment has approved the environmental impact assessment survey on the offshore Ororo field licence.
Sirius submitted the survey with its partners Guarantee Petroleum and Owena Oil & Gas in April in accordance with the Department of Petroleum Resources guidelines and regulations.
The assessment covers the drilling of three wells on the Ororo field and the installation of wellhead platforms.
"In accordance with standard Federal Ministry of Environment conditions, Sirius and its partners will maintain the required environmental management plan and environmental audits," Sirius said in a statement.
Shares in Sirius were trading up 13% at 0.340 pence on the news Monday morning.
