8th May 2015 07:11

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sirius Minerals PLC Friday said a special planning committee meeting will be held at the end of June to make a decision on the company's mine and mineral transport system application for the York potash project in the UK.

The company has lodged the application with the North York Moors National Park Authority, which will hold a special planning committee meeting on June 30, which may stretch into July 1 if necessary, said the company.

At the end of April, the company received a "positive decision" concerning its planning application for its proposed materials handling facility at the York potash project but is subject to a 'section 106 agreement' being finalised. There are two key application decision left to be made on the facility which concerns the 'straddling application' for the mine and the application for the harbour facilities.

Sirius shares fell 0.4% to 13.95 pence per share on Friday morning.
