Sirius Minerals Says York Potash Planning Process Progressing

14th May 2015 09:44

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sirius Minerals PLC provided another update on the approvals process for its York potash project on Thursday, saying a report by planning officers from the North York Moors National Park Authority will be presented at a meeting on June 30.

Planning officers have sold Sirius that the report is likely to include an "open recommendation" for authority members to consider, which will mean members can make a determination based on the relevant planning consideration.

"We are very pleased to be heading towards a decision by the members and have confidence in the strength of our planning case, the huge levels of support for the application and the many wide ranging economic benefits that the Project will deliver to the local area and to the country at large," said Sirius Chief Executive and Managing Director Chris Fraser.

Shares in Sirius were up 7.4% to 15.04 pence on Thursday.
