Sinclair IS Pharma Acquires Wrinkle Treatment Atlean From Glaxo

31st Jan 2014 09:00

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sinclair IS Pharma PLC said Friday that it had acquired dermal filler Atlean from GlaxoSmithKline PLC's dermatology business Stiefel.

The company said that Atlean, used to reduce wrinkles, will complement its existing facial care brands Sculptra and Perfectha. Atlean has not been actively marketed in Europe since 2012, Sinclair said, and it will need to regain Europe CE Mark registration for the product. As a result Sinclair does not expect revenues from this product until the second half of 2015.

CE Mark registration indicates that the product is compliant with EU legislation, and can be freely sold within the European market.

Shares in Sinclair were trading up 0.7% at 30.96 pence Friday morning.
