SimiGon wins virtual reality simulator contract with US Marines

5th Oct 2021 10:56

(Alliance News) - SimiGon Ltd on Tuesday said it has won a contract for an undisclosed value to supply the US Marine Corps with virtual reality simulators.

The Florida-based company will provide the Marine Corps Recruiting Command with its SIMbox-based F/A-18C and AH-1Z portable virtual reality simulation devices.

SimiGon shares were down 16% at 4.00 pence in London on Tuesday.

Under the contract, SimiGon will supply a turnkey hardware and software product, something that is ready to use and can be immediately implemented into a virtual reality device, for up to 25 devices over a three-year ordering period. It has already received a delivery order for 17 reconfigurable virtual reality simulators.

"This win is indicative of the trust we have established with the US government through timely deliveries, innovative technologies and excellent customer service," said Chief Operating Jack Sarnicki.

"This is a new customer for SimiGon Inc. and an entirely new product to offer the military training & simulation market."

SimiGon expects the contract will help it generate new business with other governmental organisations.

It has previously had contracts with the US Air Force and the Israel Air Force.

Last month, SimiGon reported a narrowed loss in the six months to June 30 of USD658,000 from USD1.2 million a year before, as it recovered from contract delays and slowed business opportunities during the the Covid-19 pandemic.
