Sierra Rutile Completes Gangama Construction, Restarts Titanium Sales

26th Apr 2016 09:58

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sierra Rutile Ltd on Tuesday said it has completed construction work on the Gangama project in Sierra Leone in West Africa and has restarted rutile sales to the titanium metal market.

The group said plant construction activities completed at Gangama on Monday and will soon enter the final stages of commissioning. The project remains on time and budget for commercial production to start in the second quarter of 2016.

In addition, Sierra Rutile said it has restarted rutile sales to the titanium metals market, following several years of subdued demand. The group said the new orders are an encouraging sign demand for high-grade titanium feedstocks is increasing.

Sierra Rutile shares were up 0.4% to 22.60 pence.
