Sierra Rutile Appoints Michael Barton As Non-Executive Chairman

30th Jun 2014 13:58

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sierra Rutile Ltd Monday said it has appointed Michael Barton as non-executive chairman, effective from the close of its annual general meeting on Tuesday.

The titanium feedstock minerals company, with operations in Sierra Leone, said Jan Castro will step down as non-executive chairman and director. Castro has been chairman since 2010.

Barton is a former director at Sierra Rutile and rejoins the company to help develop its assets in Sierra Leone towards their planned 2014 production guidance of 131,000 tonnes of rutile and 28,000 tonnes of ilmenite at an all-in operating cost, including overheads and forecast sustaining capital, of USD605 per tonne of rutile.

Sierra Rutile shares were up 2.6% to 50.80 pence on Monday.
