Sierra Rutile Aims At Expansion As Gangama Dry Mine Goes Operational

2nd Jun 2016 07:56

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sierra Rutile Ltd on Thursday said the plant commissioning and handover of the Gangama dry mine project in Sierra Leone has been successful.

The dry mine is now operational and is producing high-quality natural rutile, the company said. Rutile is a high-grade titanium feedstock.

The company said it is now focused on optimising the operations and said it will continue to pursue increasing production through expanding its dry mining operations.

"The successful completion of the Gangama commissioning and plant handover process confirms that the Gangama Dry Mine plant has achieved its nameplate capacity of 500tph during plant commissioning," said Sierra Rutile Chief Executive John Sisay.

Sierra Rutile shares were up 1.6% to 22.60 pence Thursday.
