LONDON (Alliance News) - Biopharmaceutical company Shire PLC Thursday named Susan Kilsby as its new non-executive chairman.
Kilsby will be replacing Matthew Emmens who is retiring, after more than 10 years with Shire.
Kilsby joined the FTSE 100 company's board as a non-executive director in September 2011, following a career in investment banking.
Women make up only 20% of FTSE 100 boards.
Shares in Shire were trading marginally higher Thursday morning, up 0.1% at 3,020.00 pence per share.
