LONDON (Alliance News) - Royal Dutch Shell PLC Friday said it will work with the UK government and European institutions about any potential implications for the company following the UK's decision to leave the European Union.
At around 0440 BST on Friday morning, the BBC called the election in the favour of the Leave campaign, a huge surprise for markets and bookmakers which had been confidently forecasting a win for the Remain side.
With all areas now declared, Leave has won by 52% to 48% for Leave.
"Although Shell was in favour of the UK remaining in the EU, we respect the decision of the majority of the British people who voted to elect to leave," said a spokesperson from Shell.
"Our priority is to continue providing reliable, affordable energy to our customers in Europe and the UK," they added.
