(Alliance News) - Shearwater Group PLC on Wednesday announced its subsidiary Brookcourt Solutions Ltd achieved an artificial intelligence certification.
The London-based cybersecurity advisory and managed security services group said the certification was against ISO 42001, an international standard for AI management systems, or AIMS.
Brookcourt is a provider of enterprise IT and cybersecurity services.
The certification provides a framework for organisations to manage AI systems responsibly, ethically and effectively, Shearwater explained.
"Achieving ISO 42001 certification reflects the organisation's dedication to best practice in AI governance and further supports its position as a leader in secure, transparent, and ethical AI deployment," Shearwater said.
The certification programme was led by Xcina Consulting, which is Shearwater's governance, risk & compliance advisory arm.
Shearwater Chief Executive Officer Phil Higgins said: "This milestone not only reinforces our commitment to ethical and responsible AI practices but also reflects the deep expertise within our group in setting industry standards for cybersecurity and digital governance. As AI continues to transform business, we are dedicated to ensuring it is deployed in a secure, transparent, and human-centric manner."
Early in May, Shearwater announced a GBP4.4 million data security contract over three years between Brookcourt and a "leading" UK telecommunications and media company.
Shearwater CEO Higgins said at the time: "We're honoured to support one of the UK's largest telecom providers in achieving its data security objectives. This contract reflects the strength of our strategic vendor relationships and our commitment to delivering industry-leading cybersecurity solutions."
Shearwater shares rose 11% to 48.50 pence each on Wednesday afternoon in London.
