LONDON (Alliance News) - Challenger bank Shawbrook Group PLC on Thursday said it has poached Evelyn Hamilton of Lloyds Banking Group PLC as its new managing director of consumer finance.
"I am pleased to be joining Shawbrook, and excited about the opportunity to drive further profitable growth in the consumer lending business. Shawbrook has an excellent reputation in the market and I look forward to working with the team here to continue providing our customers with innovative consumer lending products," Hamilton said.
Hamilton has held several roles at Lloyds Banking Group since 2007, most recently as a director of Lloyds Personal Loans, where she managed a multi-billion pound loan book. She was also a director of Lloyds' credit card and asset finance businesses. Previously, Hamilton held senior roles at Banco Santander's credit card business and at Barclays' consumer finance businesses.
Her appointment follows last week's recruitment of Simon Featherstone from Bibby Financial Services as Shawbrook's new managing director of business finance.
"Evelyn has an outstanding record in consumer lending and I am delighted that she has joined Shawbrook. She combines significant experience and knowledge of UK consumer lending with an absolute focus on delivering excellent customer service and will help us to expand our offering in this market," Steve Pateman, who started as the lender's chief executive at the start of 2016, said.
Pateman joined from the UK arm of Spanish bank Santander, where he was executive director and head of UK banking.
Shares in Shawbrook were down 1.0% at 297.0 pence on Thursday morning.
