LONDON (Alliance News) - Share PLC, the operator of UK stock broker The Share Centre Ltd, Wednesday said dealing volumes since the end of the first quarter have "held up well".
In a statement, the retail stockbroker said its market share against peers improved in April, increasing to 8.44% from the 8.02% in the same month of the prior year.
"These encouraging peer group results reflect better revenue performance as compared to our peers and, more recently, the benefits of our contract with Barclays Stockbrokers, to provide certificated dealing services, where revenues are now beginning to flow through," the company said.
In addition, the company said its share of new individual savings accounts opened in the first quarter increased to 4.74% compared with 3.44% in the corresponding period of 2014.
Shares in the company were up 2.6% at 37.45 pence on Wednesday morning.
