LONDON (Alliance News) - Shanks Group PLC on Thursday said it has signed a deal to buy a hazardous waste treatment faclity in Groningen in the Netherlands.
Shanks, the waste-to-product company, said it has bought the site for EUR3.75 million from AB Civiel Beheer NV. It is located close to Shanks Reyn North East regional headquarters in the country, and Shanks said the deal will bring immediate cost synergies with its nearby operations.
"Shanks Hazardous Waste already benefits from a strong market position in the north of the Netherlands through our successful Reym industrial cleaning business. The acquisition of this new facility in Farmsum will increase volumes, leverage our infrastructure and expand our market offering," said Jonny Happen, the managing director of Shanks' Hazardous Waste division.
