LONDON (Alliance News) - Shaftesbury PLC on Wednesday said it has received planning permission from Westminster City Council for its application to refurbish its mixed-use retail, restaurant and bar properties on the eastern side of Chinatown in central London.

The FTSE 250-listed property company's scheme for the block will involve configuring the current site to provide around 32,000 square foot of retail space, along with 13,500 square foot of restaurant space.

Shaftesbury said it expects work on the site to start in early 2016 and be completed by 2017.
