Servelec's Controls Unit Inks GBP2.8 Million In New Contracts

7th Jul 2015 08:07

LONDON (Alliance News) - Software, hardware and services provider Servelec Group PLC on Tuesday said it has snapped up a slew of new contracts for its Controls division worth a total of GBP2.8 million.

The company said it has won a contract from one of the UK's largest energy companies, which is did not name, to replace and upgrade a fire and gas detection and emergency shutdown system on an offshore platform. The 18-month deal is worth around GBP1 million.

It has also won contracts with three clients in the power and nuclear sector, including a GBP1 million deal to design, implement and test a control system for a Silos Maintenance Facility, which will support waste retrieval from decommissioning nuclear silos.

The other contracts are for the design of control systems for a liquid activity reduction platform at another decommissioning site, and two contracts with the UK's National Grid PLC for fixed-term project work and support services.

"I am delighted that the investment we made earlier in the year, to increase focus on the individual power and nuclear and oil and gas markets, is enabling us to capitalise on a long anticipated win in the oil and gas market and increased post-election confidence in the power and nuclear market. The contracts have been awarded in a very competitive environment and reflect the strength of Servelec Controls' track record and customer relationships," said Servelec Chief Executive Alan Stubbs.

Shares in Servelec were untraded on Tuesday, having last traded at 294.50 pence.
